ACP Membership and Fee Structure, ACP Tour Eligibility

1. ACP Membership Structure

Chess professionals (such as players, coaches, arbiters, organisers) and/or enthusiasts supporting the ACP can join the ACP in one of the following three categories:

1.1.  ACP Premium members

1.2.  ACP Standard members

1.3.  ACP Club members

2. Rights and Obligations

2.1.  ACP Premium members need to meet the requirements described in the Article 5 of the ACP Statutes. They enjoy the rights and are subject to the obligations of ACP members described in the ACP Statutes. They have access to the full range of ACP benefits:

2.1.1.  Ranking in the ACP Tour / ACP Women Series,

2.1.2.  Participation in events organized by the ACP,

2.1.3.  Eligibility for ACP nominations (generally as players in international and/or official tournaments),

2.1.4.  Eligibility for ACP member privileges in different events (nominations, discounts, reduced fee, special invitations, etc.),

2.1.5.  Free visa support,

2.1.6.  Voting rights during GA and EGA.

2.2.  ACP Standard members need to meet the requirements described in the Article 5 of the ACP Statutes. They enjoy the rights and are subject to the obligations of ACP members described in the ACP Statutes. They have access to the following ACP benefits:

2.2.1.  Eligibility for ACP nominations (non-player nominations),

2.2.2.  Eligibility for ACP member privileges in different events (discounts, reduced fee, etc.),

2.2.3.  Visa support,

2.2.4.  Voting rights during GA and EGA.

2.3.  ACP Club members are a valuable asset for the ACP as they express the support of the chess community for its activities. However they don't have a voting right and don't enjoy ACP legal protection.

 

3. Membership Fee

The following annual membership fee shall be paid:

3.1.  ACP Premium Membership          € 100

3.2.  ACP Standard Membership          €  30

3.3.  ACP Club Membership                €    0

4. Joining ACP

4.1.  For new or previously ACP Club members the ACP Premium or the ACP Standard Membership is valid from the moment of the membership fee payment till the end of that calendar year. It may expire earlier, if a person resigns, passes away or is expulsed.

4.2.  The ACP Club Membership is valid from the moment of the registration on the ACP Website. It never expires, unless a person resigns, passes away or is expulsed.

5. Membership Renewals

5.1.  Persons renewing the ACP Premium or the ACP Standard Membership or switching between both categories shall do so by 1 March to keep continuity of ACP membership. However, before the fee has been paid the persons are unable to participate in General and Extraordinary General Assemblies.

5.2.  ACP Premium and ACP Standard members who don't renew their ACP membership by 1 March shall be considered ACP Club members thereafter.

6. ACP Tour Eligibility

6.1.  For new ACP Premium members only results obtained after the membership fee has been paid shall be counted for the ACP Tour / ACP Women Series standings. This rule applies not only to new members to the ACP, but also to members changing their category from ACP Standard members or from ACP Club members to ACP Premium members.

6.2.  Players renewing the ACP Premium Membership by 1 March shall have all their results counted for the ACP Tour / ACP Women Series, starting from 1 January.

7. Final Remarks

7.1.  All members of the ACP as of 31 December 2013 shall be considered ACP Standard members in 2013.

7.2.  Due to a transition period, all results of players becoming ACP Premium members by 1 March 2014 shall be counted for the ACP Tour 2014 / ACP Women Series 2014, starting from 1 January 2014.

7.3.  A membership fee can be paid in any of the following 3 ways:

7.4.  The new rules presented in this document were accepted by the ACP Board on 31 October 2013 and announced on 29 December 2013. They will come into force on 1 January 2014.
