ACP Newsletter #5 2017

Dear Members,

A few days ago ACP issued a statement on the notorious Sandu Case which can be read here. There is also a Russian version and, a novelty for us, a Spanish version.

The Spanish version was translated by our new Board Member, IA Jesús García Valer. Jesús joined the ACP Board after GM Max Dlugy decided to withdraw from it last week. ACP wishes to thank Max for his contribution to ACP in the years he was active for us in his function.

Finally, we are (re)welcoming WGM, FA and FT Aleksandra Dimitrijevic as our ninth Board Member. With our team now fully lined up we expect to continue to deliver to our Members.

Now to other items of news.

The special prizes for our Premium Members at the upcoming Individual European Championship in Minsk (May 29 – June 10) will be 6000 EUR in total. We invite you to take part in what promises to be an exceptionally strong and well-organised event. Please check the details here.

Speaking of Individual European Championships, we would like to thank and congratulate the ECU on the wonderful work they did with the organisation of the Women tournament in Riga. A lot of participants labelled it as “best-ever” and we hope this will set a standard for all the next tournaments of this kind.

Continuing our fruitful cooperation with the tournaments in Wijk aan Zee, Gibraltar and Poikovsky we are happy to announce that we will have wild cards in 2018 as well.

The ACP wild cards for the summer are still up for grabs. The Najdorf Memorial in Warsaw (July 8-17, possibly the strongest open of the whole summer!) still has places left so feel free to contact us.
