Dear Chess friends,
With only a few days to go before the start of the Women's World Rapid and Blitz Championship organized by the ACP and the Georgian Chess Federation (Batumi, 30 May - 6 June 2012), the ACP is proud to announce to both its members and the chess community yet another step in its effort to improve communications.
Earlier today, in fact, we launched our brand new site at
The new site reflects the new attitude of the ACP in many ways:
1. The new address makes reference to the whole community of chess professionals and no longer only chess players, in line with the ACP's new approach.
2. The almost 900 members can now be sorted and displayed in multiple fashions and account is taken of multiple titles (Players, Arbiters, Trainers, Organizers, Officials, Journalists, Other).
3. The ACP tour section is now enhanced, with a new map instrument and automated and up to date calculations of the ACP Tour ranking.
4. A new Forum is now operational, where ACP members will be able to discuss relevant topics. Since the Forum is only open to ACP members, who by definition are only chess professionals, it is the only professional chess forum in the world!
5. A new tool has been developed to run polls on sensitive chess issues.
6. It is the home to the new ACP Book of the Year and ACP Tournament of the Year contests.
7. It provides a link to the ACP's Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Please note that the previous site,, will continue to exist as a repository for former ACP data. A link to the new site will be provided on the home page.
All ACP members can use their previous username (or e-mail) and passwords to log in. In case you should have any problems logging in, please contact us at
Please take your time to sign up to the forum and to visit us regularly: we will be updating the site on a regular basis with news from the ACP world!
