ACP Board wishes to congratulate the European Chess Union and Georgian Chess Federation on the excellent organization of the European Individual Chess Championship held in Batumi 16-29 March 2018.
In the opinion of many Grandmasters it was one of the best European Championships ever in terms of organization. As ACP, we would like to single out the excellent playing venue and the anti-cheating regulations applied in this event.
The combination of efficient professional organization and traditional Georgian hospitality made this event truly remarkable. ACP and its members are looking forward to the most prestigious event in the chess calendar – the World Chess Olympiad to be held in Batumi later this year. We hope it will be another success of the Georgian organizers to the delight of the thousands of players and spectators involved.
