ACP Extraordinary General Assembly - Results

Dear Colleagues,

We announce the results of the Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA). They are as follows:

4 votes for YES
3 votes for NO.

This means that the EGA’s decision is in favour of the dissolution of the ACP.

The current board will now take the next legally required steps to conclude the process. We will keep you informed as we move forward. As part of this process, the ACP funds will be spent for chess purposes. If you wish to be refunded for your ACP membership for 2023, please write to secretary@chessprofessionals.org and we will proceed with the refund.

The past few years showed that there is very little interest and support for the work of the ACP. The last General Assembly showed that few were interested in joining the new ACP Board, which was to take the organisation forward. The current board feels that both the board and the ACP fulfilled its purpose.

We hope that in the near future there will be an attempt to have a new organisation with new people who will be eager to work in the interest of the chess players. We can only add that in order such an organisation to succeed, global support for its cause will be required.

Best,

ACP Board
