The ACP wishes to congratulate Premium Members Maxim Matlakov and Baadur Jobava on their excellent showing at the recently finished European Individual Chess Championship in Minsk, Belarus.
Both Grandmasters finished on 8.5/11 and shared first place, the title going to Maxim due to better tie break. Their way to the top was completely different – Maxim played a solid and controlled tournament from start to finish, while Baadur, perhaps more in line with his temperament, had a most exciting tournament: he started with 1/3 and then won an incredible 7 (!) games in a row!
We would also like to extend our congratulations to all other Premiums who played successfully in Minsk and qualified for the upcoming World Cup.
