ACP Stream - Gender Equality in Chess: Should There Be Separate Events/Titles/Prizes for Women and Men?

ACP Stream - Gender Equality in Chess - Wednesday, 20 April, 6:30pm CET

Dear Colleagues,

Following the successful stream on Ukraine ACP continues to organise panel discussions on important topics.

As FIDE announced 2022 to be the year of Women in Chess, we decided to invite yet another stellar cast to talk about a very important issue: should there be separate events/titles/prizes for women and men?

Former World Champion GM Susan Polgar,
FIDE Managing Director WGM Dana Reizniece-Ozola,
CEO of Eade Foundation FM James Eade,
and the strongest German female chess player IM Elisabeth Paehtz.

The aim of the discussion is to understand the best way forward for women in chess.

The panel will be hosted by WGM Dina Belenkaya and will be held on our Twitch channel. Make sure you subscribe to it so you can get regular updates.

The discussion will take place on Wednesday, 20 April, at 6.30pm CET (Paris) time.

We are expecting you see you in large numbers on Wednesday and looking forward to a constructive discussion that will aid our understanding and will hopefully result in productive conclusions how best to navigate these sensitive issues.

With improved chat controls we also hope to be able to answer some of the questions from the chat, so make sure you subscribe and feel free to ask!

Best,

The ACP Board
